New Kids host Toys for Tots benefit

New Kids on the Block will perform a special benefit concert Dec. 20 at the House of Blues in Boston, according to a video announcement posted on their website. The event, which will feature NKOTB music and holiday songs in addition to solo material from NKOTB members, will benefit Greater Boston's 2009 Toys for Tots gift drive.
NKOTB also will host a separately ticketed reception and meet-and-greet at the HOB Foundation Room. All proceeds from the reception and concert will go to Toys for Tots. In addition, the band is asking concertgoers to bring unwrapped non-violent toys to the concert, which will be donated to the cause.

We hear that NKOTB is playing a Christmas charity show at the House of Blues on Dec. 20. All net ticket proceeds will go to Toys for Tots, and fans are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys to the concert. The boys even put together a quick video explaining how the idea came about:

Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Sat.) at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Yes, tomorrow. Wonder if they'll perform "Funky, Funky, Xmas?" Fingers crossed.
